2022-2023 Term

President: Madison Nemeth, '23

Madison Nemeth served as the Judicial Council President from April 1, 2022, to April 1, 2023. As President, she nominated and presided over Parliamentarian Jared Schlachet, Vice President of Elections Koryn Isa, and Vice President of Peer Advocacy Sophonie Alcindor. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Madison resided in Johnson Family Hall and majored in Political Science and Africana Studies with a minor in Education, Schooling, and Society.

Before assuming her role as Judicial Council President, Madison served as the Johnson Family Hall Senator, member of the Committee on the Constitution, and Deputy Parliamentarian for the 2020-2021 term, and as the Student Union Parliamentarian for the 2021-2022 term. On February 23, 2022, she was nominated to serve as Judicial Council President by David Haungs—her predecessor and the 2021-2022 Judicial Council President—and was confirmed by a unanimous vote of the Student Senate. As President, Madison oversaw a smooth electoral cycle and gracefully guided the Student Union Ethics Commission and Student Senate through several arduous disciplinary hearings. 

On February 28, 2023, Madison successfully nominated Korn Isa as her successor. In recognition and appreciation of " her dedication and contribution to the University of Notre Dame du Lac," the Student Senate granted Madison the title of Judicial Council President Emeritus on April 5, 2023. Above all, Madison is remembered for her constitutional knowledge and prowess.

Today, Madison serves as an English teacher, instructing 6th Grade students in English.  

Parliamentarian: Jared Schlachet, '23

On April 7, 2022, Madison Nemeth successfully nominated Jared Schlachet to serve as the Student Union Parliamentarian. Jared served as Parliamentarian between April 7, 2022 to April 5, 2023, having previously served as a member of the Committee on the Constitution for the 2021-2022 term. As Parliamentarian, Jared engaged in a process of constitutional and bylaws reform, amending the Constitution for improved clarify and simplification. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Jared resided in Knott Hall and majored in Finance and Philosophy.

Today, Jared serves as a research fellow for the Nord Family Foundation.

Vice-President of Elections: Koryn Isa, '24

On April 7, 2022, Madison Nemeth successfully nominated Koryn Isa to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Elections. Koryn served as Vice President of Elections between April 7, 2022 to April 1, 2023, having previously served as Vice President of Elections for the 2021-2022 term, and Vice President of the First Year Class Council for the 2020-2021 term. As Vice President of Elections, Koryn oversaw transparent and highly engaging elections with tremendous turnout, and worked to offer swift and clear assistance to all candidates. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Koryn resided in McGlinn Hall and majored in Biological Sciences with a minor in Health, Humanities, and Society. 

On March 1, 2023, Korn was nominated to the role of 2023-2024 Judicial Council President by President Madison Nemeth and confirmed by a unanimous vote of the Senate.

Vice-President of Peer-Advocacy: Sophonie Alcindor, '24

On April 13, Madison Nemeth successfully nominated Sophonie Alcindor to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Peer Advocacy. Sophonie served as Vice President of Peer Advocacy between April 13, 2021 to April 1, 2022. As Vice President of Peer Advocacy, Sophonie worked to support students accused of violating the Notre Dame's standards of conduct. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Sophonie majored in Economics with minors in Data Science and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
