2004-2005 Term

President: Brin Anderson, '05

Brin Anderson served as the Judicial Council President for the 2004-2005 term.
As President, she nominated and presided over Vice President of Elections Karsten Steinhauser and Vice President of Peer Advocacy Meagan Powers. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Brin resided in Howard Hall and studied Biology.

Before assuming her role as Judicial Council President, Brin served on the Residence Life Committee and as a senator for Howard Hall. Brin was nominated to serve as Judicial Council President and was confirmed by the Council of Representatives. As president, Brin worked to bring greater efficiency and awareness to election proceedings.

On March 27, 2005, Brin successfully nominated James Leito as her successor.

Today, Brin is a Senior Attorney at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Vice-President of Elections: Dr. Karsten Steinhaeuser, '05, '07, '11

October 4, 2004, Brin Anderson successfully nominated Karsten Steinhaeuser to serve as the Vice President of Elections. He had previously served as a Senator for Carroll Hall as a member of the Residential Life Committee and as an R.A. in Carroll. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Karsten resided in Carroll Hall and studied Computer Science.

Karsten was the 2005 recipient of the prestigious Irish Clover Award, awarded to outstanding members of the Notre Dame community for exemplary service to the student body.

Karsten went on to earn his Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science in 2007 and his PhD in Computer Science in 2011 from Notre Dame. Today, Karsten is a Senior Director of Program Management at AeroVironment.

Vice-President of Peer Advocacy: Meagan Powers, '05

On October 4, 2004, Brin Anderson successfully nominated Meagan Powers to serve as the Vice President of Peer Advocacy. Meagan had previously served as a Judicial Council Peer Advocate, dorm commissioner, and member of the Notre Dame Magazine Student Advisory Board. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Meagan resided in Farley Hall and studied Political Science.

Today, Meagan is an attorney serving in New York.
