2010-2011 Term
President: Marcelo Perez, '11
Marcelo Perez served as the Judicial Council President from April 1, 2010 to April 1, 2011. As President, he nominated and presided over Parliamentarian Benjamin Noe, Vice President of Elections Michael Thomas, and Vice President of Peer Advocacy Susanna Sullivan. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Marcelo resided in Stanford Hall and majored in Spanish Language and Literature.
Before assuming the role of Judicial Council President, Marcelo served as the Judicial Council Vice President of Elections for the 2009-2010 term. He was nominated to serve as Judicial Council President by Ian Secviar—his predecessor and the 2009-2010 Judicial Council President—and was confirmed by the Council of Representatives. He would be the last Judicial Council President to be confirmed by the Council of Representatives, as it ceased to exist during his term and many of its members were shifted to the Student Senate.
Marcelo Perez most notably reduced the size of the Election Committee (now Council), shaping it into what it currently looks like. Following a year of service, Marcelo successfully nominated Susanna Sullivan as his successor.
Today, Marcelo practices law as an associate at Thomas, Thomas, and Hafer LLP.
Parliamentarian: Benjamin Noe, '13
Marcelo Perez successfully nominated Benjamin Noe to serve as the Student Union Parliamentarian. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Benjamin majored in Political Science and Government.
Today, Benjamin practices law as an associate at Hartman Simons & Wood LLP
Vice-President of Elections: Michael Thomas, '13
Marcelo Perez successfully nominated Michael Thomas to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Elections. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Michael majored in Finance and Spanish.
Michael Thomas was nominated to the role of 2012-2013 Judicial Council President by Susanna Sullivan and confirmed by a vote of the Senate.
Today, Michael is a Principal at BayPine.
Vice-President of Peer Advocacy: Susanna Sullivan, '12
Marcelo Perez successfully nominated Susanna Sullivan to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Peer Advocacy. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Susanna majored in Political Science and Psychology.
Susanna was nominated to the role of 2011-2012 Judicial Council President by Marcelo Perez and confirmed by a vote of the Senate. To our knowledge, Susanna is the only Vice President of Peer Advocacy to ever become Judicial Council President.
