2014-2015 Term
President: Dr. Kathryn Peruski, '15
Dr. Kathryn Peruski served as the Judicial Council President from April 1, 2014 to April 1, 2015. As President, she nominated and presided over Parliamentarian Carolina Ramirez, Vice President of Elections Caitlin Geary, and Vice President of Peer Advocacy Peter Rodgers. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Kathryn resided in Pasquerilla East and Farley Hall and majored in Environmental Geosciences. She served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Notre Dame, then would go on to get a PhD in Environmental Engineering & Sciences from Clemson, hence her title of doctor.
Before assuming her role as Judicial Council President, Kathryn served on the Election Committee for the 2012-2013 term, and Judicial Council Vice President of Elections for the 2013-2014 term. She was nominated to serve as Judicial Council President by Michael Masi—her predecessor and the 2013-2014 Judicial Council President—and was confirmed by the Student Senate.
Following a year of service, Kathryn successfully nominated Zach Waterson as her successor. In recognition and appreciation of her dedication and contribution to the University of Notre Dame du Lac, the Student Senate granted Kathryn the title of Judicial Council President Emeritus on March 2, 2016.
Today, Kathryn is a Staff Radiochemist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Parliamentarian: Carolina Ramirez, '15
On April 2, 2014, Dr. Kathryn Peruski successfully nominated Carolina Ramirez to serve as the Student Union Parliamentarian. Carolina served as Parliamentarian from April 2, 2014 to April 1, 2015. Noted by Kathryn in her nomination, Carolina was qualified for this position due to "her experience and sincere interest in the efficiency of Student Government", having served as a Senator for the 2012-2013 term and Liason of the Diversity Council for the 2013-2014 term. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Carolina resided in Pasquerilla West Hall and majored in Political Science.
Today, Carolina is the Head of the Western Hemisphere at Business Council for International Understanding.
Vice-President of Elections: Caitlin Geary, '17
On April 16, 2014, Dr. Kathryn Peruski successfully nominated Caitlin Geary to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Elections. As noted by Kathryn, Caitlin's prior service on the Election Committee helped her gain "an awareness and understanding of the elections process and regulations." Caitlin served as Vice President of Elections from April 16, 2014 to April 22, 2015. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Caitlin resided in Cavanaugh Hall and majored in Accounting and Spanish, with a minor in Constitutional Studies.
Following a second term as Judicial Council Vice President of Elections, Caitlin Geary was nominated to the role of 2016-2017 Judicial Council President by Zach Waterson and confirmed by a vote of the Senate.
Vice-President of Peer Advocacy: Peter Rodgers, '17
On April 16, 2014, Dr. Kathryn Peruski successfully nominated Peter Rodgers to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Peer Advocacy. Peter served as Vice President of Peer Advocacy from April 16, 2014 to April 22, 2015. Peter served as a Peer Advocate before assuming this position, and was characterized for his gaining of "invaluable experience with the process of Office of Community Standards hearings and conferences." While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Peter resided in Keough Hall.
