2015-2016 Term
President: Zach Waterson, '16
Zach Waterson served as the Judicial Council President from April 1, 2015 to April 1, 2016. As President, he nominated and presided over Parliamentarian Sara Dugan, Vice President of Elections Caitlin Geary, and Vice President of Peer Advocacy Brenden Forte. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Zach resided in Keenan Hall and majored in Computer Science, with minors in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
Before assuming his role as Judicial Council President, Zach served as an FYCC Representative for the 2012-2013 term, Keenan Hall Senator for the 2013-2014 term, and Junior Class President for the 2014-2015 term. He was nominated to serve as Judicial Council President by Dr. Kathryn Peruski—his predecessor and the 2014-2015 Judicial Council President—and was confirmed by the Student Senate.
Following a year of service, Zach successfully nominated Caitlin Geary as his successor. In addition, Zach was the 2016 recipient of the prestigious Michael J. Palumbo Award, bestowed annually to "a member of the undergraduate student body for outstanding service and dedication to the Notre Dame Student Union" (Art. XVII, §2(a) of the Constitution).
Today, Zach is a Senior Health Software Engineer at Apple.
Parliamentarian: Sara Dugan, '18
On April 1, 2015, Zach Waterson successfully nominated Sara Dugan to serve as the Student Union Parliamentarian. Monica served as Parliamentarian from April 1, 2015 to April 6, 2016. Noted by Zach in her nomination, Sara was characterized by her demonstration of " a phenomenal approach to the position and possesses the skills necessary to effectively communicate." While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Sara resided in Farley Hall and majored in Marketing and International Business.
Today, Sara is a Senior Manager of Brand Applications at SPINS.
Vice-President of Elections: Caitlin Geary, '17
On April 22, 2015, Zach Waterson successfully nominated Caitlin Geary to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Elections. This was her second nomination to the position, leading Zach to comment that "There is no one more qualified for this position than Caitlin." Caitlin served a second term as Vice President of Elections from April 22, 2015 to April 1, 2016. While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Caitlin resided in Cavanaugh Hall and majored in Accounting and Spanish, with a minor in Constitutional Studies.
Caitlin Geary was nominated to the role of 2016-2017 Judicial Council President by Zach Waterson and confirmed by a vote of the Senate.
Vice-President of Peer Advocacy: Brenden Forte, '16
On April 22, 2015, Zach Waterson successfully nominated Brenden Forte to serve as the Judicial Council Vice President of Peer Advocacy. Phil served as Vice President of Peer Advocacy from April 22, 2015 to April 27, 2016. Brenden served as a Peer Advocate before assuming this position, and was characterized for his commitment to working with "the Office of Community Standards to rebrand and refocus the Peer Advocacy program to better address the changing needs of students." While a Notre Dame undergraduate, Brenden resided in Stanford Hall and majored in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Engineering Corporate Practice.
Today, Brenden is a Senior Technical Program Manager at Amazon.
